Brainspotting is a powerful form of therapy that accesses the subcortical brain though the use of a "spot" in the visual field. The Brainspotting process facilitates the brain's natural healing capabilities. Much like EMDR, Brainspotting clients find effective relief from the physiological effects of trauma and stress. The primary difference between brainspotting and traditional talk therapies is that talk therapy occurs in the cerebral cortex, while trauma lives deep in the brain's limbic system. The brainspot is the window into this deep brain structure.
